Burgette is an artist, social entrepreneur, academic and poet born in South Africa, based in West Yorkshire. Burgette studied Fine Art: Painting and Drawing at The University of Huddersfield (2006-2009). With an interest in philosophy, theology, the spiritual, the subconscious and psychoanalysis of art. Burgette became interested in working in the field of education and later went on to study a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in the Lifelong Learning Sector (2013-2015) and taught persons who were detained in secure settings.
In 2021 Burgette qualified with an academic masters degree (LLM) in Mental Health Law. In her exam and dissertation Burgette averaged a Distinction.

Zero Suicide Alliance and UCLAN Essay competition- "Have the rates of self-harm and suicide increased during the covid-19 lockdowns and pandemic, in the UK and globally, and how might we explain these findings?"
